Top Dog!

Kai was Top Dog this week for his kindergarten class. He got to share a poster and pictures that told all about him, be the line leader all week, and read with Buddy (the class mascot). Here is a poster his classmates made that lists their top 10 favorite things about Kai.

Nearly Naked

It's no secret that Sage and Kai like to be nearly naked. For as long as I can remember, the boys have much preferred to wear nothing but their undies. Most days, they roam around the house in their underwear and always strip down as soon as we walk in the door from school or other places. The other day, I picked the boys up from spending the weekend at their grandparents house where more than just underwear is expected. No sooner than we were buckled in the car when Sage says, "I can't wait to get home and take all my clothes off!" Future nudist in the making?!

Happy Birthday, Sage!

Today, we celebrated Sage's 7th birthday! He was the boss today and requested a low key day. We had donuts for breakfast, lunch with mom at school, Qdoba for dinner, and sno-cones for dessert. We also read his birth story, opened presents, and had movie night.

Sage at 7 is inquisitive, wise, and fun! He loves dinosaurs, video games, Minecraft, and being with his family and friends.

All About Kai - age 6

Loves:
Helping people
Making meals
Eating :)
Playing with Sage and friends
Anything active like sports and jumping on the trampoline
Video games
YouTube videos
Legos
Hugs!

Kai is such a loving child! Just like he always has, he will stop in the middle of having fun to give Jared or I hugs. We call them the "I'm having fun" hugs. He is super sweet and charming and knows just what to say to melt your heart. He has a sensitive side when his feelings get hurt or even when someone else is upset (especially Sage), he will cry. Kai is also silly and active and always dancing/punching/karate chopping. He likes to make others happy and will do that by making them laugh or agreeing to do what the other person wants.

Kai is handsome, friendly, loving and amazing! We are so blessed to have him in our lives and be in his presence. He truly lights up the room with his big brown eyes, his big personality, and his big laugh!

Happy 6th Birthday, Kai!

Kai is six! We celebrated the day by letting him be in charge. He started his day by walking through his decorated door and reading his birth story (Kelly family birthday traditions). Then, since his birthday was on a Saturday, he opened presents right away. He requested donuts for breakfast and played new video games with Sage most of the morning. Kai wanted to make lunch for everyone and we played outside some of the afternoon.

Kai chose "Incredible Pizza" for dinner. We ate and played until they closed! Since Kai was in charge, we started with snocones and then ate dinner. We played Laser Tag, mini golf, and lots of games. The boys also rode the bumper cars. When IP closed, we went home and snuggled to watch a movie before bed. I think it's safe to say, Kai had a wonderful birthday!

First Day of School 8-12-15

It was a very special first day of school this year because both boys are at the same school and with me! Sage is in first grade and Kai started kindergarten at Pierremont. I feel so blessed to have them at the same school where I work because not only do they have the best teachers, but I get to see them throughout the day! It's such peace of mind knowing your precious children are in great hands with teachers who know and care about them. I'm going to cherish this time!

Happy First Day!

Lake Vacay!

Last weekend was the annual family lake trip to celebrate PaPa's birthday. The boys and I went down a couple days early and had a blast spending extra time with Grandma and our cousins. We swam and played. Then, when the boat captain (aka PaPa) arrived on Friday, we went boating. The boys LOVE the new boat and the "hot dog" they rode around the lake for hours at a time. It was great! Of course, I had to ride it too because we always had the best time on it when we were kids. It's still fun, not made for adult knees, but fun! We also spent lots of time swimming and jumping off the boat deck since it was so hot. The weekend was filled with swimming, boating, eating good food, playing outside, and family. Kai made an ice cream pizza for PaPa's birthday. We made a trip to Captain Ron's and Tres Hombres (two of our faves). The boys even went tablet free the whole weekend!
