Last Days of Summer 2016

We spent the last days of summer at some of our favorite places:
The Lake of the Ozarks and the Botanical Gardens.

Family Fun on the 4th!

It was a fabulous 4th of July weekend filled with family and fun. We celebrated Keisha being in town, pool time (in between the rain), and birthdays! We saw multiple fireworks displays with Webster Groves being "the best ever" according to the boys. I love the 4th!

They Did It!

The boys had one big goal for the summer - to learn how to ride their bikes. We started a week ago and it was rough. We watched some you tube videos that recommended taking the pedals off so they could learn to balance. We tried it and after just a few days, Sage and Kai had gained lots of confidence and could balance and glide down a hill. We taught them how to use their brakes and agreed to try the pedals tonight. We put the pedals back on and it was magic! They just rode off into the sunset! We are looking forward to a fun summer of bike riding.

Last Day!

Today was the last day of school!

This evening, I was telling Kai how proud I was of him. He started crying and said, "I want to go to school!" I asked, "why, are you going to miss your friends?" He sobbed, "I want to learn...with Mrs. Boyher." Too sweet! Kai really had a great year. He absolutely thrived this year and grew so much in all areas. He's reading well above grade level, writes amazing stories, and just loves school. He easily qualified for the gifted program which he will start in first grade. He made a ton of friends including his BFF, Oliver. It was a wonderful kindergarten year!

Sage had a great year in first grade! He also grew so much and has tons of friends. He's enjoyed going to his gifted classes, reading, science, and especially math. His BFF this year was Patrick. It was the first year there were no rough starts to the day and he happily went to school. Thank you, Mrs. Griffith! Hooray! Oh, and, both boys had perfect attendance for the whole year!!!

Another great school year in the books!

May Day

Every year, the boys' school celebrates May Day with a huge, school wide production. There's singing and dancing to celebrate the queens of May Day. This year, I was a queen for being teacher of the year and the music teacher made it even more special by giving Sage and Kai special and extra performances. Here are some highlights from the special day!
