Everyday Matters

Today's tender loving moment brought to you by...Sage.
I had been downstairs for about an hour working out while the boys were playing with Jared upstairs. When I came back up the steps and opened the door, Sage ran to me saying, "Momma!" with giant smile on his face. So, I scooped him into my arms and gave him a big hug. Then, he says to me, "I SO HAPPY!" My heart just melted. I love this kid!

They Just Keep On Growing

Kai is not only wearing the same size diapers as Sage, but he is now wearing the same size clothes too! So, just to keep them in different sizes, we moved Sage up to 3T. They tend to fall off his skinny, little butt though. I put away the 18 month clothes Kai has grown out of and it makes me sad...they are growing so fast.

Sage knows how to count to ten and write the S in his name. He knows his colors, but doesn't say them correctly. Instead, he identifies colors by the names of his favorite trains. Thomas is blue. James is red. Percy is green. And, so on. When I ask him the color of something blue, he says, "Thomas.". It's cute! Sage is also really into reading and writing lately. His writing now tells a story instead of just scribbles. I'm so proud! Perhaps one of Sage's biggest accomplishment is his willingness to share. The boys have become really good at that!

Kai is getting so big. The other night he was dressed up in a button down shirt with a collar and looked like a little old man - especially with his receding hairline. :) Kai talks a lot and still loves to sing and dance. He knows all the motions to his favorite songs. Kai is our little lovebug. He thrives on attention and affection. Fortunately, he gives just as many kisses and hugs as he gets. Be careful though, he likes to give love BITES too!

A few weeks ago, I was training with a consultant who I see two or three times a year. I was updating her about Sage and Kai and showing her recent pictures. She took one look at them and said, "He (Sage) looks so wise and he (Kai) looks like he just wants to be loved.". Boy, did she hit the nail on the head!

Jared is enjoying his new job at AB although he says it can be stressful at times. It sounds to me like he is an air traffic controller for beer - a beer traffic controller. He is still working part time for Best Buy too so that he can keep his employee discount. Adjusting to a six or seven day work week has been rough!

My job is going great! I love what I do and feel like I'm actually making a difference this year. That's important to me since I've been out of the classroom for five years now. I've missed that feeling. Classes for my Ed Specialist are going well too. I really enjoy the content and learning from other professionals in other school districts.

Everyday Matters

Two things today...
1) wonderful grandparents always willing to lend a helping hand
2) moments of genuine affection between Sage and Kai - pats on the back, hugs, words of encouragement (Don't cry Bubba, it's a sunny day!)

Run Run As Fast As You Can...

you can't catch me, I'm the Sage Man!

Sage LOVES to run. Instead of heading to the playground, he goes to the path surrounding the park and runs along the yellow line. He can run pretty fast and will run nearly the whole way around the park - a good two miles. He only stops when he gets distracted by big sticks, hills, piles of leaves, acorns, or sand.
