Cardinals Clinch

We were lucky enough to attend the Cardinals game when they clinched the central division championship. It was an exciting game with two home runs and lots of celebrating after the final out. We are looking forward to watching the Cardinals win in the post season!

One of my favorite moments was when Kai leaned over and asked, "Why are some of them (the players) wearing Mario hands?" At first, we couldn't figure out what he meant. Then, we realized he was talking about the fielders' gloves. Ha!

Roadtrip!

Nine people including three small children.  One van.  1,800 miles.  28 hours on the road.  Sound like fun?  It was!  Well, not necessarily the looooong ride, but the time in between celebrating Aunt Keisha's marriage to Jessica.

We drove overnight Wednesday and arrived in Galveston, Texas on Thursday morning just in time to catch some sun at the beach.  Sage and Kai loved the water and didn't even seem to mind the salty taste.  They played in the waves and had a blast.  That night, we had dinner with Aunt Keisha and Jessica for the first time.  We filled our bellies with good food and our hearts with love and laughter.

Friday, we spent at the beach and in the pool dodging the intermittent rain showers.  We didn't even mind the rain that day.  Friday night, we had a great big dinner at a great seafood restaurant.

Saturday was the wedding. Unfortunately, it rained the whole day nonstop. We did manage to squeeze in about an hour at the beach in the morning (in the rain) before the boys lips turned blue.  We had to get out because it was just too cold.  Because of the rain, the beach wedding was moved indoors.

But, as you can see from the pictures, it was still a beautiful ceremony!  I cried as soon as everyone started walking down the aisle.  Sage and Kai carried the "Here Comes the Bride" sign and stood up front for the ceremony.  They talked and fought over the sign nearly the whole time.  But, Keisha said she didn't mind.  It was really beautiful to see two people so in love committing their lives to each other.

After the ceremony, we ate, danced, and had a great time!  Everyone was on the dance floor.

We left early Sunday for the long drive home.

Are we there yet?

Now, are we there yet?

We made it!

Heading to the beach!

Wilki Welcome!

Sage and Kai are loving their new school! They are making new friends and love their teachers. Ms. Hahn and Ms. Jenkerson even came to visit the boys in our home. We receive regular email updates from both teachers including pictures. So fun! Here are some pictures of the boys playing at their new school.

Run the Bases Day

We spent the afternoon at Busch Stadium today and had a blast. We sat in Big Mac Land, ate free ice cream, scored free Six Flags Tickets, enjoyed the beautiful weather, and watched the Cardinals win 12-2! The boys loved the fireworks when two Cardinals hit home runs and when we won the game. After the game, we went down on the field so Sage and Kai could run the bases. They were so excited especially when they saw Fredbird giving high fives at first base. As we were leaving the stadium, Kai said, "When I was running the bases, that made me happier. I didn't want to be happy (he was feeling a little sick), but that made me be happy!" What a great day at the ballpark!

Today's Funny

Kai had a time out at school today (not funny). He was "rough housing" with another little boy. In my talk with him, I said, "You have to keep your hands to yourself."

Kai responded, "I was trying to keep my hands to myself, but my bones wouldn't listen."

It would be hilarious if he wasn't in trouble.
